When is it time for Hospice?

When medical treatments cannot cure an illness, hospice may be needed. A patient may be eligible for the benefits that Compass Hospice can provide when he or she has a life limiting illness with a prognosis of six months or less, as determined by two physicians. When the goal of treatment has changed from curative care to comfort care, Compass Hospice is here for you.

Some of the symptoms and/or diagnoses indicating that a person may be eligible for Compass Hospice care include:

  • Increased Confusion
  • Weight Loss
  • Multiple Hospitalizations
  • Pain
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Overall Decline Without Explanation
  • Difficulty in Performing Daily Activities like Bathing, Grooming and Eating
  • Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia
  • Heart Disease
  • Lung Disease
  • Cancer

If you have questions regarding a loved one and if you think hospice is the right choice, simply give us a call. Our staff is ready to discuss services and care options for your specific needs.
